My "Star-Spangled' Americana Guest Room

With a last name like Justice, it seems only fitting and right that our family would be very patriotic.  In fact, when I was pregnant with our first child, my husband and I even toyed with the idea of "Liberty Ann" Justice for a girl name! We had a boy, and 2 boys followed, so we never used that name!

I love my country, the United States of America.   Yes, when I was teaching, my class did say the Flag Salute daily, along with singing a patriotic song.  I always told the kids, "Stand up straight and tall; be proud to be an American!"

I am truly proud to be an American. and I love what the colors of our flag stand for:
  • Red - Blood and courage
  • white - Purity
  • blue - Justice and freedom
Similarly, it just seemed appropriate that I should decorate a room in our home in our nation's beautiful colors - red, white, and blue.  That's exactly what I did in my "Star-Spangled" Americana Guest Room!  I hope you enjoy the tour!

Granddaughter Mia,
our tour guide,
welcomes you to my
"Star Spangled"
Americana Guest Room.

I hope you
enjoy the tour!

The comfortable bed features a throw that was a gift
from very special friends who visited us.

Uncle Sam holds his
 flag proudly.

This patriotic wreath was a craft that I designed
and taught at church camp.

I used a Wood-burning Tool to engrave the alphabet
on this bench that I helped assemble.

This grouping features a wallhanging which was a gift from guests.

The ship was a string-art project that I taught at summer church camp.

The wooden angel and  American flag made of
buttons were both gifts.

Other gifts include the Canoe Shelf and
Lighthouse Shadow Box.

I have collected these
assorted books and
"knickknacks"
over the years.

Plaid curtains and border
add a charming touch.

Special memorabilia decorate the
top of a chest.
This wooden flag was bought  in Amish Country
while vacationing in Ohio.

This oak bench was a great find at an outdoor craft fair.
Other items were specially priced at a
post-holiday sale.

Grandson Alex poses beside my
Americana tree in
red, white, and blue!

I hope you enjoyed the tour!  Come back and visit soon!
