Bite-size Nachos are the perfect snack for kids of all ages - quick, easy, nutritious, and delicious! Kids love to help make them, and they are great for after-school snacks and parties. My grandkids love these, and Noah said, "Mamaw, put this on your Blog!" I let him give them a name, and here's our recipe!
Ingredients:
Leftover Taco Meat**
Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese
Tostitos Scoops
Other optional toppings (onions, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, etc.)
Salsa
Tabasco Sauce
Directions:
Place Tostitos Scoops on a microwavable plate. Place a spoonful of Taco Meat on each Scoop. Carefully sprinkle the cheese on top.
Microwave for 15-20 seconds on high, or until cheese is melted and meat is hot.
Optional: Add additional toppings.
Serve with salsa and/or sour cream, if desired.
Nancy's Notes:
- This recipe brings back memories of my 3 sons coming home from school "starving" and making a huge plate of Nacho Chips from leftover Taco Meat to eat before dinner!
- If the Taco Meat is frozen, thaw before putting it on the Scoop.
- **If you do not have leftover Taco Meat, brown 1-1/2 to 2 pounds of ground chuck, ground turkey, or ground venison with 1 chopped onion in a skillet and cook until done. Add 1 packet of Taco Bell Taco Seasoning Mix and water and mix well. Cook on medium heat until most of the water is absorbed - about 5-7 minutes. For the amount of water, I pour water halfway in the Taco Seasoning Packet 2 times and "swish" to remove the remaining mix before adding it to the meat.
Quick, easy, nutritious, and DELICIOUS!!! |
